Decorated to a high standard this excellent depiction of ex-GCR 8K/O4 appears here finished in BR Black with early emblem as preserved example No. 63601.
The Great Centrals long distance freight locomotive of choice, the Robinson O4 was a robust freight design that even made it overseas during WW1. Introduced in 1911, this example No. 63601 was outshopped in 1912 being firstly allocated to Gorton Shed. Lasting in service until 1963, the locomotive was withdrawn from Frodingham Shed and later preserved as part of the National Collection.
