Gresley's B17 locomotives were introduced from 1928 and used on Great Eastern passenger trains from London to Norwich and Cambridge. Known as 'Footballers' this class were mainly named after English football teams that the LNER served stations for, with others being named after various halls and stately homes.
This brass kit-built depiction models No. 2839, a 1933 built locomotive which would later become a B2. The model here has been constructed and finished to a high standard.
