1 item left

Designed by Gresley as a shortened down A3, the V2s were quickly put to work on fast freight duties and other mixed traffic turns. 184 V2s where built and the locomotives in service quickly earned the reputation of being "the engines that won the war". Built at both Doncaster and Darlington, this particular locomotive No. 60856 was built in 1939 and lasted in service until 1964, being withdrawn from York (North) Shed. One locomotive of the class, 'Green Arrow', has been preserved.

This locomotive has been recreated through the use of a Martin Finney kit, and has been fitted with JPL Wheels, Canon motor with flywheel and multi-stage gearbox making it an excellent smooth runner.
