A superb (and incredibly rare) factory-built Aster kit of a Japanese National Railways C57 05 locomotive, finished in black.
201 of these locomotives were built between 1937-1947, with a further 14 constructed in 1953 for Taiwan. Designed by Hideo Shima, the class lasted in revenue earning service until 1975, with the Taiwanese examples surviving until 1983. 32 locomotives have been preserved, of which 4 are operational.
