Expertly detailed from a LIMA Model, this ex-LMS 4F has been finished to a high standard as No. 44278. Built new in 1926 No. 44278 was based at mostly Kettering Shed before being withdrawn and later scrapped in 1966 from Westhouses Shed.
With their unglamorous but versatile nature makes the LMS' freight engine of choice the perfect addition to any Midland Region layout.
Weathered and numbered in-house by Neil Armitage, this superbly upgraded ex-LMS 4F has received the following upgrades:
Cast white metal parts such as: chimney, smokebox door, dome, cab roof vent, lubricator boxes, sanding filler caps, smokebox/boiler injector pipe, whistles/safety valves, tender coal rail, water air duckets and filler cap.
The model also features an excellent etched brass underframe/chassis on both the locomotive and tender, along with finescale wheels and rods.
Other upgrades include reinforced brass running plate, handrails, tender cab, sanding pipes, lamp brackets, brake rigging, sprung buffers, brass footsteps and the fitment of vacuum pipes and screw link couplings to make this wonderfully detailed model complete.
