Constructed from a brass kit of unknown origin, this excellent example of Gresley's V3 has been finished to a high standard as no. 67687 and has received an excellent weathered finish courtesy of Neil Armitage.
Gresley's answer to suburban motive power, the LNER V1/V3s were widespread across the LNER's suburban network hauling commuters to and from city centres. This example No. 67687, spent its whole working life allocated to the North East and later Haymarket Shed. Built in 1939, the locomotive lasted in service until 1962, being later scrapped along with the rest of its classmates.
