Era 3 Brass Construction Realistic Coal Cab Detailing Sprung Buffers

Product Information

Constructed from a kit of unknown origin, this excellent example of Aspinall's Class 5 has been finished as no. 10857, with hand lined LMS red lining, and an excellent weathered finish courtesy of Faye Moore.

Introduced from 1889 by John Aspinall, the L&YR class 5s were designed for local passenger work and were built at the L&YR's Horwich Locomotive Works. Unusually for tank engines, they were fitted with water scoops. The last locomotive was withdrawn in 1961, with class pioneer no. 1008 preserved for the National Collection.
