Constructed from an Alan Gibson kit, this rarity in O Gauge has been finished to a high standard as no. 53807. Featuring a wealth of backhead detail complete with sight glasses and fire irons, this impressive model has also received an excellent lightly weathered finish.
Introduced in 1914, the SDJR 7Fs were introduced to cope with heavy goods workings over the Mendip Hills that were infamously steeply graded on the network. With a total of 11 built in two batches (one in 1914 and one in 1925), the locomotives were an instant success and bigger than anything Derby had batch produced at the time. Lasting in service until 1964, two locomotives have since been preserved.
