Starting life as Class 155 Super Sprinters, 70 units were converted between 1991-1992 to make the 153 Class, replacing older First Generation DMUs on rural branches. 25 units are still in service today, with one being preserved.
Heljan's excellent model here (item No. 53243) has a impressive spec of lighting features, including opening door light, cab lights, saloon lights, directional lighting and window blinds. The model also features excellent factory fitted DCC Sound and is in near-mint condition.
