Decorated to a high standard this excellent depiction of ex-LNER B17/6 appears here finished in BR Lined Green with Early Emblem as No. 61666 'Nottingham Forest'.
Gresley's B17 locomotives were introduced from 1928 and used on Great Eastern passenger trains from London to Norwich and Cambridge. Known as 'Footballers', this class were mainly named after English football teams on the LNER's network. This example 'Nottingham Forest' was allocated to Cambridge from new in 1937, lasting in service until 1960, being withdrawn from Stratford Shed.
