This beautiful 'King' has been constructed and finished from brass components from a kit of unknown origin to a very good standard and features handlining and a helical gearbox. The model has also received an excellent gloss finish and light weathering courtesy of Faye Moore.
Built in 1928 as part of the 30 strong class of Kings designed for the GWR's top express services, 'King Charles II' was allocated to Old Oak Common Shed all its working life. Sadly like with 27 of her other classmates she was withdrawn in 1962 and scrapped at Cashmore's Newport. Three Kings have been preserved, these being class pioneer 'King George V', 'King Edward I' and 'King Edward II'.
