Newsletter No. 24
Good evening,
I hope this newsletter finds you well and in the warmth of your home, if you've been anything like myself these past two days you will have had a real time making it off the front drive!
I suppose the most important thing to start with is the good news that Kettering will go ahead as planned and we will be there with both our pre-owned stock and the ever growing range of Darstaed finescale O Gauge.
We will make the journey down tomorrow and hope to see as many of you as possible on the Saturday.
This time last week I was sat in the bar of my hotel in Glasgow accompanied by Andries Grabowsky owner of Darstaed, and his wife Michelle. They kindly made the trip over and arrived on the eve of Model Rail Scotland ready for a busy weekend of sales and feedback from our brand new Darstaed stand (which will now appear at many upcoming exhibitions).
Both the exhibition and reception to our setup was superb. We had on show a finished sample of a Mk1 CK maroon coach alongside our new Darstaed video advert (click here to view on YouTube), rendered pictures of the upcoming sleepers and buffet cars and poll handouts aimed at finding a majority to answer to what you would like to see next from Darstaed. As always the reception was fantastic and I cannot thank those who took the time to provide their opinions, comments and insights enough.
Whilst on this subject if you have something you would love to see produced in O gauge then please send me an email - it would greatly help and more importantly will mean we produce something for which the market truly wants to see modelled.
Next week we will be adding a large amount of varied O gauge locos and coaches to website both from the steam and diesel era with some fantastic kit built items and hard to find RTR locos.
After Kettering this weekend we will then be turning our attention to the Festival of Railway Modelling at Alexandra Palace where, amongst OO, HO and O gauge stock we also hope to have in stock maroon CK, SK and BSK coaches from Darstaed.
For those of you with an interest in Gauge 1 we have just taken into stock 5 of Aristocraft class 66 diesel locos in EWS, Malcolm Rail and GBRF liveries. These are all priced at £525 so if interested please call the office or send me an email.
You may recall that in my last newsletter I mentioned many long term exciting plans for the business and although were not yet ready to announce these just yet, we hope to instil the same elation which resides with us.
That's it for me this week, I hope you all enjoy your weekends and if I do not see you at the Kettering show then I hope you're at-least out of the cold in-front of a warm, glowing fire.
Kindest regards,
Ellis.
